Handel’s London Musical Scene

“full of science, originality and fire” (Charles Burney)

EUBO’s concert programme takes the listener to 18th century London where some of Europe’s finest composers and musicians of the time practised their profession. Featuring suites, solo concertos and concerti grossi by Handel, Sammartini, Geminiani and their contemporaries, elements of late baroque style are combined with the emerging classical style and influenced by contemporary European musical tastes, making this programme appealing to listeners and performers alike. The ever-inspiring EUBO will be directed from the harpsichord by Lars Ulrik Mortensen, and joined by Croatian violinist Bojan Cicic, and the young prize-winning recorder player from Belgium, Jan Van Hoecke.
